For his last hurrah, the man behind the P. Johnson fashion brand would like to wear an Egyptian tunic and a lot of gold.
I’ve never thought about my own death. When you die, you die. I don’t really think about anything mystical or spiritual happening. You’re just here and then you’re not.
Patrick Johnson: “I’d go for a big long Egyptian cotton tunic. Something quite dramatic, all white, quite ethereal. Hair back, looking a bit saintly.” Illustration by Sam BennettI wouldn’t have any poems read out. I don’t want anything that will bring the tears on too much. I’ve always been afan, so maybe one of Jonny Greenwood’s classical compositions would be nice in the background, something that gives people a bit of open time to reflect.
As for what to wear, pre-burning I’d go for a big long Egyptian cotton tunic. Something quite dramatic, all white, quite ethereal. Hair back, looking a bit saintly. I’d have a bit of jewellery on; I’d get it taken off so it’s not wasted in the fire. But I would like to wear quite a lot of gold. A bit Liberace. I wouldn’t wear a suit. You’re not that comfortable lying down in a suit. I know you’re dead, but you still want to be comfortable.
