Glasgow beautician Donna claimed her marriage to the footballer ended because he cheated on her
Donna Tierney has been flooded with messages of support after she claimed that her marriage with Jermain Defoe ended because he cheated on her. Defoe and the Glasgow beautician first met in January 2021 at a charity do, when the England international was playing for Rangers.
In a statement, she wrote: "Truth be told it’s been the hardest time of my life, my heart was broken which was extremely difficult for me to deal with without having something that is so pure and real to me publicly devalued and disrespected on so many levels, which inevitably broke me. Donna's followers and fans were quick to respond, with one saying: "Hope your okay angel and you are better than that," complete with three red love heart emojis.
While a fourth wrote: "Everything happens for a reason you got this." A fifth penned: "I’m so sorry, beautiful. You pure hearted soul. I wish nothing but happiness this year for you and your girl."
