Deliveroo's plan to let people pay for takeaways in installments ridiculed

Delivery giants Deliveroo is now offering customers the chance to pay for food on Klarna 🍔

Buy now, pay later is a way of buying goods but paying for them at a later date.

When completing an order on the Deliveroo app, Klarna pops up as a delivery option alongside credit, debit card and PayPal. ‘The fact that consumers have been driven to short-term financing alternatives to afford a takeaway – the most bog-standard treat to yourself imaginable – is a poor reflection of the Government’s lack of financial support for anyone outside the top 1% and their economic policies that have tanked the value of the pound in a short few weeks.

‘From June 1 onwards, the use of Klarna is now visible on all customers’ credit reports, meaning your line of credit is now directly affected by Klarna usage.
