Deloitte ‘exits’ 20 employees over misconduct, bullying, harassment claims

Deloitte has investigated 145 misconduct allegations over the past year and found more than half were substantiated.

Fourteen of the allegations made by Deloitte staff involved sexual harassment by employees at the firm, with investigators finding 12 of these cases were substantiated. Six people were “exited” and the other six were “reprimanded”.

“As with any organisation with lots of people, we’ve had our share of incidents, but our commitment is to investigate these quickly and thoroughly and take appropriate action, regardless of who’s involved. Deloitte, which has almost 12,750 employees, received 146 complaints in the year to May, a complaint rate of about 1.2 per 100 staff. The firm’s investigators aim to complete inquiries within a maximum of four weeks after a complaint is made.More than half of the complaints were about general misconduct, described by the firm as being about “respect and fair treatment”.
