The Strays ending explained: Delving into the shock ending of the Netflix thriller
The movie opens with Cheryl , who is in an abusive relationship and is struggling to pay the rent despite being a successful saleswoman. Under pressure, she decides to pack up and leave her life behind.
In the build-up, Neve starts to suspect that she's being stalked by a young Black man, who she later sees working as a caretaker at her school, and a young Black woman. It all comes to a head at her charity gala where she sees the two mysterious strangers. But they're not strangers at all. They're her children.
Dione thinks that Neve will let them stay with her new family now, yet that's not what she's planning. Neve gives them £20,000 in cash which she thinks will make things right and help them start afresh. Thinking she's done enough, Neve makes it up with her new family and tells them her previous children have gone back to London.
Ian demands a divorce from Neve when Carl reveals that she tried to pay them off. After a tense game of Scrabble, Carl takes Ian into the home gym and forces him to bench too much weight, leading to Ian being crushed by the weights when Carl refuses to help.While this is happening, dinner arrives and Neve answers the door to the delivery driver.
