Day two of the Democratic National Convention will feature two of the party’s biggest names – Barack and Michelle Obama – as well as the man who could end up being America’s first-ever first gentleman: Doug Emhoff.
Kamala Harris will face Donald Trump in the general election in what’s expected to be a tight race.That means independent voters in key states will likely be more important than ever. Should independents break for Harris, she’ll have an easier time at the polls. If they shift instead toward Trump, the former president will gain advantage.For that reason, the impact that independent US presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr has on the race is important to watch.
The vice presidential candidate, Nicole Shanahan, said that as independents she and Kennedy ran the risk of drawing support from would-be Trump voters and clearing the way for Democrats Kamala Harris and Tim Walz to win the November election.“Or we walk away right now and join forces with Donald Trump,” she told Los Angeles media company Impact Theory. She would not reveal when they would make a decision.
