Democrats mobilize to unseat embattled Trump supporter Scott Perry, say fair elections at stake

Shamaine Daniels speaks to reports on Aug. 20, 2022.They hope to have waves of people knocking on doors every weekend from now until Election Day, making the case incumbent Scott Perry has done little to benefit voters, and much to undermine Democracy in the United States.

“It’s very clear that Scott Perry has betrayed his oath of office. He betrayed the Constitution. I can go on an on. Most importantly, he betrayed the trust of each and every one of us,” said Coplen, who lost to Daniels in the May primary. Perry, a York County native, is seeking a sixth two-year term representing the 10th U.S. House district, which covers Dauphin County and parts of Cumberland and York counties. The district of 521,245 registered voters leans Republican, with Republicans accounting for 44.4% of registered voters, compared to 39.2% registered as Democrats, and 16.4% registered as Independent or other.

Perry campaign spokesman Matt Beynon responded by calling Daniels a supporter of the “Biden Administration’s breathtakingly damaging policies.” She said her priorities on city council have included affordable housing, programs to help young people and making it easier for people to open businesses in the city.
