‘Denial and diversion’: PM engaging in ‘wrong fight’ over border security
Sky News host Chris Kenny warns Prime Minister Anthony Albanese is engaging in the “wrong fight” over border security as he hits out at the Opposition leader.
The Opposition on Thursday criticised the federal government’s handling of the Palestinian visas following Sky News Australia host Sharri Markson's revelation earlier this week that 2,273 people who hold a Palestinian Authority travel document have been given Australian visas between October 7 and February 6.
“We don’t know about the authenticity of the travel documents, we don’t know whether these people are Hamas sympathisers, and I think the government needs to tread very cautiously here,” Peter Dutton told reporters. Mr Albanese claimed the Opposition leader has “nothing positive” to offer Australia as he targeted Mr Dutton’s “scare campaigns”.“There is only one way for Anthony Albanese and the government to play down any fears and concerns about illegal immigration and national security, and that's not by engaging in a tit-for-tat political spat,” he said.Read More
