The Broncos are placing KJ Hamler on injured reserve after he aggravated a hamstring injury in practice Wednesday, a source confirmed to The Post on Saturday. via ParkerJGabriel
Hamler had missed the past three games with a hamstring injury suffered in practice in the lead up to Denver’s Week 10 game at Tennessee and looked to be nearing a return, but suffered a setback and now will miss a minimum of four games. That means he will be out until at least a Week 17, Jan. 1 game at Kansas City and could mean his season is over.
Moving Hamler to IR means the Broncos have two spots on their 53-man roster. One will go running back Mike Boone, who is set to be activated off of IR. The other could go to rookie receiver Brandon Johnson, who has been elevated from the practice squad twice so far this season and is in Denver’s plan for the Ravens after playing 42 snaps last week.
Broncos defensive back K’Waun Williams was also downgraded to out for Denver’s game Sunday at Baltimore.
