Denver’s weather will be warm to hot and dry over the next several days, with mostly clear and sunny skies before an approaching cold front brings a chance for precipitation in the middle of the upcoming week.
In the mountains on Saturday, isolated showers and thunderstorms are expected, especially north of Berthoud Pass, the weather service said. Some areas above timberline will see a dusting of snow. On the plains, afternoon and evening thunderstorms are in the forecast along and north of Interstate 76. The storms will be more windy than wet, with gusts up to 35 mph and little precipitation.
Overnight in Denver skies will be mostly cloudy before gradual clearing, the low temperature will be near 51 degrees, the weather service said. Scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected in the mountains today, mainly north of I-70. The plains will have isolated afternoon and evening storms, mainly north of I-76. Storms today will produce light rain and wind gusts up to 35 mph.
