Stores have started stocking goods for the festive period despite it still being August and the summer holidays in full swing
Shoppers have said it's "depressing" to see Christmas decorations on sale before the summer holidays are over. Punters have spotted stocks on shelves before August is done.
Clearly wanting to get ahead of the game, the discount store has been putting out tinsel, Christmas cards and baubles long before the evenings get dark. A photo taken of one branch showed two aisles overflowing with tonnes of red, gold and green items. But many of those who came across the yuletide offerings felt frustrated that the shop hadn’t even waited for temperatures to fall before pressing ahead, reports CoventryLive.
"We haven't had much of a summer, but there's no need to rub it in our faces that winter will be here soon. It's just a bit weird having Christmas decorations up in the seasonal aisle when there are other events in the calendar we haven't had yet, like Halloween. At least let us have the summer Bank Holiday first."
