Australians have responded with shock after a shopper uncovered the drastic measure a Coles supermarket outlet has taken to prevent thievery.
'There’s a limit and this is it': Physical security tags placed on meat packaging at Coles store leaves shoppers stunned
“I'm honestly looking for a local butcher shop now. If I see even one of these tags in my local Colesworth, then that will be it. There's a limit, and this is it,” one said. “This is depressing that we have come to this. Cost of living, removing staff from checkouts, spending more on theft prevention instead of lowering f***ing prices so people don’t need to steal f***ing meat,” another commented.
Major supermarkets Coles and Woolworths have come under fire over claims of price gouging amid the rising inflation and cost-of-living crippling Australians.
