Derek Wolfe wasn’t retired for long., the team that had drafted him in 2012, the former defensive end on Tuesday was announced by Bonneville Denver as the new co-host of “The Drive with Derek Wolfe and DMac” on 104.3 The Fan.
“To the listeners in Denver, ‘The Fan Wolfe-pack,’ I am so insanely pumped to talk with you every afternoon on The Fan. We had a special connection when I was playing for the Broncos that’s only going to grow stronger every day on The Drive,” he said in a news release. “DMac and I are going to fight sometimes, maybe we’ll fight a lot of the time, but we’ll always be working together to entertain you. I’ve always kept it 100 with you, and that’s not going to change one bit.
Wolfe was drafted by Denver in the second round of the 2012 NFL draft and played 10 seasons in the league — eight in Denver before signing as a free agent with the Ravens. He recorded 34 sacks in his career and was part of a dominant Broncos defense that led the team to a Super Bowl 50 victory against the Panthers.
Wolfe, 32, replaces former teammate Tyler Polumbus, a Denver native who played on the offensive line for Cherry Creek High School and the Colorado Buffaloes before an eight-year NFL career that included two stints with the Broncos. Polumbus tweeted on Sept. 18 that his “My contract at The Fan has come to an end.
