The Central Florida Tourism Oversight District board announced that it will counter-sue Disney after the company filed a lawsuit against Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis.

Disney is challenging the legality of a new board appointed by DeSantis to govern the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District – where the Walt Disney World resort is located. DeSantis responded by pushing the Florida legislature to strip Disney's self-governing authority and create a new board, full of his appointees, which now has control over the theme park's development. On Thursday last week, aissued a summons against DeSantis in relation to Disney’s lawsuit, while the governor was more than 6,000 miles away from the state on a trip to Israel.
