The distance between RonDeSantis and JoeBiden in a 2024 presidential election matchup seems to be growing, as the latest polling shows Biden expanding his lead.
Biden's lead over DeSantis has grown to 43% to 38%, according to new national data from Morning Consult. Last week, Biden only held a 2-point advantage over Desantis, 42% to 40%.The same 2024 matchup sees Biden defeat former President Donald Trump by 1 percentage point, 43% to Trump's 42%. Just last week, however, Trump was leading the president 44% to 41%.Trump's support dropped 1 point from last week.
Fellow 2024 candidates Vivek Ramaswamy and former Vice President Mike Pence took third and fourth places, with 8% and 7%, respectively. The survey took place between July 7-9. It included 3,616 likely Republican primary voters for the primary tracking results and over 5,000 registered voters for the hypothetical general election matchups. The margin of error for the primary polling is plus or minus 1-2 percentage points and for the general election polling is plus or minus 1 percentage point.
The RealClearPolitics polling average in the Iowa race between April and July shows Trump at 47.7% and DeSantis at 23.7%.
