Fantasy Island season 2 will feature a reunion between Desperate Housewives co-stars Teri Hatcher and James Denton. One of the first super-couples of the soapy Desperate Housewives, Hatcher and Denton sizzled in their respective roles as Susan Mayer and Mike Delfino. They've since reunited for the Hallmark holiday movie A Kiss For Christmas, which debuted in November 2021.
Now, they're among several guest actors that will appear in the upcoming Fantasy Island season 2. TVLine has now revealed two new photos of Hatcher and Denton on Fox's reboot of Fantasy Island. In their episode, which debuts on January 16, the Desperate Housewives couple plays empty nesters Dolly and Dutch. Seeking clarity on the next chapter of their lives, they find themselves as contestants in a twisted game show centered around their marriage.
Will A Desperate Housewives Reboot Happen? Hatcher shot down the idea of a reboot in 2018, speaking frankly about the fact that revivals aren't always executed well. Series creator Mike Cherry echoed somewhat similar thoughts about any potential revival, mentioning how he'd be open to a Desperate Housewives reboot if the idea was right and the cast was a good fit. The original's first season was a massive global success, with the pilot watched by more than 21 million viewers.
The show's impact on television is arguably greater still, helping to inspire a slew of unscripted series and the Real Housewives franchise. Desperate Housewives exited the airwaves, just as pop culture was beginning to shift thanks to the rise of Netflix and prestige TV; the likes of Susan and Mike wouldn’t have been able to compete. But, as evidenced by Fantasy Island season 2, the legacy of Wisteria Lane lives on.
