A 19-year-old man killed in a “furious” attack in Adelaide’s west was “lured” outside by his assailant, police say. Police and paramedics were called to Carey Ave in Seaton about 10.20pm on Tuesday where they found Scot Phillips, 19, with stab wounds. He was treated at the scene but died. Police said the incident was not a random attack. A murder investigation is underway. Superintendent Doc Bray said Phillips was “lured” outside when the suspect turned off the power to his home.

“I think it’s fair to say this was a preplanned attack, and it was an ambush in the sense that switching the power off lured him outside, the person was armed, he was waiting, and he unleashed a furious attack on the victim,” Bray said. “It was clear from the wounds he suffered it was a deliberate attempt to kill him.” Detectives have seized a ”large” knife from the crime scene. Bray said the occupants of the home were co-operating with inquiries.
