New details have emerged over the death of a Queensland grandmother in Mackay. A 55-year-old woman has been charged with the murder of her 73-year-old mum after the older woman was found dead at a northeast Queensland home. The woman’s body was found in the Mackay suburb of Glenella about 11.20am on Thursday. Police said the Queensland Ambulance Service responded to a call that an elderly woman had fallen within the house.
“ called the police as the injuries were not consistent with that of a fall,” Detective Inspector Emma Novosel told media on Friday. Novosel said the mother and daughter lived together in Bundaberg and were in Mackay visiting close family members. “It was a normal morning, the other people residing in the house had left to go about their day’s business,” she said. “ was alive and well in the morning.
