An online petition set up by Scottish Green MSP Ross Greer has received more than 83,000 signatures - however last week it was claimed that less than 3,000 of these are from G82 and G83 postcodes.
Developers behind plans for a £40m tourist resort in Balloch have clashed with campaigners over the number of objections lodged against the proposals.
An online petition set up by Scottish Green MSP Ross Greer has received more than 90,000 signatures - however last week it was claimed that less than 3,000 of these are from G82 and G83 postcodes. The Greens have hit back, saying their website sends a separate and unique objection to the national park for every individual objector with each response requiring a name and postcode.
Over three-quarters of the objections are from Scotland, most of the remainder are from England, while a handful of others have given addresses around Europe, North America and Australia.“The suggestion that over 90,000 people who have taken time to object are imaginary or a team of robots, or somebody sitting in a basement inventing fake personas is verging on paranoia.”
