Devils tie series, 2-2, behind another game-winning goal from defenseman against lifeless Rangers

Kevin Armstrong | NJ Advance Media for NJ.com— When Devils coach Lindy Ruff scratched defenseman Jonas Siegenthaler from Game 2′s lineup, Ruff explained to the 25-year-old from Zurich that he would be going back in, but he needed to play more aggressively in the Stanley Cup playoffs.

On Monday night, Siegenthaler asserted himself early in Game 4 by clearing a loose puck from the crease and flipping it with his backhand over several Rangers toward center ice. By chance, teammate Jack Hughes took it and raced to score the opening goal just 2:50 into the game.
