Breaking Bad season 2 has one odd element that may have actually foreshadowed Gus Fring's explosive death several seasons before it happened.
Gus Fring's death is one of the most shocking elements in Breaking Bad, but the show may have actually foreshadowed it all the way back in season 2. Although Gus Fring didn't make his first appearance until several episodes later, Breaking Bad is known for its meticulous planning, meaning that the idea of the show knowing Fring's fate before his debut isn't too far-fetched.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT Although he didn't show up until nearly halfway through the series, Gus Fring is one of Breaking Bad's most popular characters. Gus is an incredibly fearsome villain whose popularity even warranted his return in the prequel series, Better Call Saul. Gus Fring is around for a while after his season 2 debut, antagonizing Walt and Jesse all the way up until his explosive death in season 4.
However, the teddy bear's connection to Gus Fring gives it an even deeper meaning past Breaking Bad season 2. The appearance of the teddy bear has a striking resemblance to Gus Fring after his death, in which he is mutilated by a bomb that is attached to Hector Salamanca's wheelchair. Both the teddy bear and Gus Fring have incredible burns on one side of their body, which is interesting enough on its own.
Why Breaking Bad's Gus Death Was Accidental Despite the connections between the teddy bear and Gus Fring being incredibly strong, this bit of foreshadowing was probably accidental. By the time the teddy bear's tenure in Breaking Bad was finished, Gus Fring wasn't even around yet, with him not appearing until later that season.
Intentional Or Not, Breaking Bad's Pink Bear Makes Gus Fring's Death Better Whether or not it was intentional, the pink bear is still a great addition to Gus Fring's death in Breaking Bad. Even if it was accidental, the pink bear still seems like it's foreshadowing Gus Fring's death, with many viewers recalling the bear on their first watch-through. The pink bear's design may be an accident, but it makes the series seem more planned out and cohesive than it actually was.
