A year ago, Mississippi coach Lane Kiffin said he appreciated Fisher’s slow approach to snaps because it helped Kiffin’s thin defense get set in the Rebels’ 29-19 victory in Oxford, Miss. Leach and Fisher are 1-1 against each other, so both sides can make their arguments for offensive pace heading into the rubber match.The Aggies lost their offensive leader, senior receiver Ainias Smith, for the season to a lower leg injury in last week’s victory over Arkansas, and he will be missed.
Six years ago, A&M rolled into Starkville as the No. 4 team in the College Football Playoff rankings before getting steamrolled in the first half by the Bulldogs — smashing the Aggies’ best chance of making the CFP under then-coach Kevin Sumlin.
