Canyon Hills' Kat Keivens and Scripps Ranch's Elizabeth Jacobs take over powerhouse programs as rookie coaches
Something has been different at both Canyon Hills and Scripps Ranch highs since before the first day of field hockey practice.
Despite having young children of her own — son Tyler and daughter Cora , Jacobs accepted the job as the head coach. Keivens was caught off guard at one of Berger’s retirement parties when Berger asked her if she’d be interested in taking over as coach.At a second retirement party, Berger got the answer she was hoping for when Keivens agreed to be the Rattlers’ new coach.
