More parking spaces will be freed up across Nottingham when the city council demolishes three dilapidated garage sites. Six garages in Crampton Court will be knocked down alongside eight in Thistledown Road, Clifton, and a further 50 in Rosegarth Walk, Basford.
Nottingham City Homes , the managing agent for Nottingham City Council’s housing stock, has been conducting reviews of property including garage sites. “Of the sites reviewed across the city, three have been highlighted for demolition and clearance,” a council report says.“There is a shortage of local of adequate parking space in some areas of the city and very little communal land available.
The most significant demolition project to demolish 50 garages in Basford will cost £136,726.70. All three sites will be cleared and tarmac will be laid ready for use for parking.
