65, which follows a soldier landing on Earth 65 million years ago and fighting dinosaurs, gets the worst critic score of Adam Driver's filmography.
65's Rotten score has provided a career low for star Adam Driver. The film, which opened in theaters this weekend, follows Driver's character, a soldier named Mills, as he crash lands his ship on a planet that turns out to be Earth 65 million years in the past. In order to protect himself and the young Koa, the only other survivor, he must fight dinosaurs and other creatures from prehistoric times.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY On Rotten Tomatoes, they have aggregated enough reviews during the opening weekend of 65 to calculate an official score of 33 percent. While this could still fluctuate somewhat as more reviews drop, it is by a solid margin the lowest score of any film in his filmography.
However, the initial interest in the new Star Wars trilogy was primarily driven by legacy characters and the Star Wars name itself rather than Driver or the other stars. Driver has still yet to prove himself as the lead of a blockbuster tentpole outside of the iconic franchise. Unfortunately, this Rotten Tomatoes score may show that 65 isn't the film to show off this potential.
The star doesn't have any other tentpoles lined up in the immediate future, instead sticking with his tried and true sphere or more indie or arthouse films. Those films are among his highest-rated, including the Oscar-nominated films BlacKkKlansman, Silence, and Marriage Story. If 65 fails to turn a profit on top of this low score, that may be the mode he reverts to full-time rather than trying his hand at continued blockbuster stardom.
