Tens of thousands of students will be forced to stay home or go to school with limited supervision as teachers strike for a pay rise, better work conditions and more staff to resolve a shortage crisis.
The industrial action by educators and teaching staff has caused chaos at schools, with tens of thousands of students forced to stay at home on Wednesday.

Offer ends 31 October, 2022 Ms Mitchell said she was"disappointed" by the reaction from the union as it will cause disruptions for school children around the state. "So, I had hoped that potentially that would make the union reconsider their industrial action today. Unfortunately that's not what has happened.
She was quizzed on why discussions about a pay rise have taken more than six months after the first strike in a decade in December and amid the rise of cost-of-living pressures impacting families around the country."It's our nurses, our other front-line staff. We want to consider this right across the board for our public servants," she said.
The Department of Education said it will"seek to defer the IRC arbitration on the salaries component of the Award to enable us to factor any outcomes of the budget process into the Teacher Award process."
