An incident late Saturday night injured two restaurant workers in Jersey City when an angry customer rammed Taqueria Downtown with an SUV, police said.

The incident was reported at 10:59 p.m. Saturday night at Taqueria Downtown at Grove and Grand Streets, said Kimberly Scalcione, a Jersey City spokesperson. One of the restaurant workers told police he had refused to serve a man after last call had been made prior to closing, Scalcione said. The patron then got upset and started yelling at the employee. Outside the restaurant, the man was joined by another man and woman and a physical altercation ensued, Scalcione said.
“The three individuals then jumped into a vehicle and backed into two restaurant workers, the side of store, and also another vehicle,” she said.shows a small silver SUV quickly backing up and slamming into the restaurant’s entrance. A male passenger is seeing jumping out of the vehicle and running away.
The two restaurant workers were taken to Jersey City Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the vehicle struck by the SUV refused medical attention on scene. Police are continuing to investigate.
