Fishing authorities pointed to the recent state of Kissing Point Wharf in which fishermen left the space in disarray.
The NSW DPI Fisheries issued a notice today warning bad behaviour by those fishing at Sydney Harbour and Parramatta River ferry wharves would attract hefty fines and penalties.
A photo shared to social media shows the wharf littered with fish guts, bait and rubbish, including a knife left unattended on the ground."School holidays are here and many people and families will be using the Sydney Harbour and Parramatta River ferry wharves to destinations across the Harbour," the notice reads.
It's reminding anglers to ensure no fish remains are left on wharf or commuter seating and no knives are left in open view or unsecured while out fishing.
