The red carpet for the new Haunted Mansion movie was populated by Disneyland costumed characters during the Screen Actors Guild strike. The strike, which began on July 14, prevents actors from attending promotional events for struck productions. This may result in delayed release dates on some upcoming projects, but Haunted Mansion was already set for release on July 28, so the promotional campaign has been in full swing up to this point.

The SAG-AFTRA Strike Could Hugely Impact Disney SAG-AFTRA is currently on strike for fair compensation, seeking a deal with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers that would regulate the use of AI and provide fair residuals for streaming. Disney's solution to actors' absence on the red carpet was somewhat fitting, considering the fact that this particular title is inspired by Disneyland itself.
