Disney and Lucasfilm have reportedly responded to rumors that StarWars composer John Williams is scoring the upcoming ObiWanKenobi Disney+ series. While not confirming Williams' involvement, the studios said a composer announcement is coming 'soon.'
Disney has reportedly responded to rumors that John Williams, the composer responsible for the iconic Star Wars themes, scored Obi-Wan Kenobi. The limited series will pick up with legendary Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi on Tatooine 10 years after the events after the events of 2005's Stars Wars: Revenge of the Sith. Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader is also set to appear as his Inquisitors hunt Force users who survived or eluded the purge of Order 66.
Williams scored all nine of the Star Wars films taking place within the Skywalker Saga, as well as providing “The Adventures of Han” theme for 2018's Solo: A Star Wars Story. In February, it was reported that Williams would be writing the main musical theme for Obi-Wan Kenobi. However, both Williams’ involvement and a composer for the series have yet to be officially announced.
Regardless of the overall composer, Williams is almost certainly involved with Obi-Wan Kenobi, as the series already rides high on nostalgia following the release of the first teaser. The trailer has already made use of classic Star Wars themes like “Duel of the Fates” and “Battle of Heroes,” which will likely be evoked during Kenobi and Vader’s rematch.
