Daniel Andrews will lose three to five seats at the November 26 election but will narrowly hold power as support for Liberal leader Matthew Guy stalls.

A poll of over 1,000 Victorian voters conducted between November 3 and 6 forby Freshwater Strategy, found Labor’s primary vote has fallen six points from the 2018 state election.

Almost half of voters also believe that Andrews will not serve a full term, including four in 10 Labor supporters . “The Premier has managed this dynamic in Victoria well, he understands the minimum threshold he needs to cross for success in at election and is sticking to it.” Labor remains on track to hold power with a 56-44 two-party preferred lead over the Coalition, according to the latest poll, which shows the slip in Labor’s support is not enough to threaten their notional majority of 12 seats based on new boundaries after a redistribution. The Premier has been tight-lipped on reports he is being investigated in a secret anti-corruption commission probe over his role in the awarding of two grants worth $3.
