Novak Djokovic has admitted being deported from Australia was 'challenging emotionally' but insisted there were no 'traces of that' ahead of his round two Wimbledon match against Aussie fan favourite Thanasi Kokkinakis.

The 35-year-old was asked post match on Monday whether the deportation and coming so close to the coveted Golden Slam – winning all four Grand Slam events and the Olympic gold in the same year – still weighed on him.

Novak Djokovic said he is no longer affected by his deportation from Australia after his round one match at Wimbledon. Despite starting his round two match as the heavy outsider the popular South Australian said he “can’t wait for the opportunity” to play Djokovic. Djokovic’s refusal to get vaccinated before the Australian Open in January saw him spectacularly deported after a lengthy legal battle where then-Immigration Minister Alex Hawke used his ministerial discretion to send the tennis star home.
