Novak Djokovic is reportedly set to backflip on his vaccination stance after he witnessed his rival Rafael Nadal overtake him in Australia for the most Grand Slam tournaments won.

Nadal broke the 20 Grand Slam tournament tie between himself, Djokovic and Roger Federer in Melbourne after a stunning comeback from two sets down against Russia's Daniil Medvedev.

Novak Djokovic is set to get a coronavirus vaccine as be does not want to miss out on playing in major tournaments, his biographer said. Picture: Getty Images "From what I have heard from those around him, I think he is getting vaccinated," Mr Muksch told an Austrian broadcaster."What you hear from his environment, I think he's getting vaccinated."

He is scheduled to play at the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships later this month but the chances of him playing at the next major tournament at Roland Garros would be severely compromised if he remained unvaccinated. "It is currently uncertain whether players who have recently recovered from COVID-19 will be allowed to compete unless they have completed at least one dose of a two dose vaccine."

His vaccination move will come in time to compete at the French Open where the government will require all athletes to be vaccinated before they can enter the country. Picture: Picture: Getty Images
