The looming junior doctors’ strike could cause disruption to go on for 10 or 11 days, a health chief has warned

than they have been about any other industrial action, and fear the impact will be significant and hit patient safety, with worries that up to 250,000 appointments and procedures will have to be postponed, a health chief has warned., says the junior doctors’ strike due to begin in England on Tuesday and last for four days will have a deeper and longer-lasting impact because of it taking place around Easter.

The Government has stated that there will be no negotiations with junior doctors unless they call off their four-day strike and at the moment, there is no sign of progress in resolving the dispute. “What we expect to see is a really diminished capacity within the health service with those junior doctors being out.

“But then we have had on top of that this difficult winter, we have had Covid, we have had flu and we have had this whole season of industrial action by various people within the health service and beyond.” However, he highlighted that a five per cent offer would not be agreeable to their members and would not even be an agreeable starting position.
