Morvay was also fined £600 for each breach, totalling £5,400, and she was ordered to pay £300 compensation to one of the victims and £190 to the court
An "irresponsible" dog owner who repeatedly failed to keep her pets under control has been banned from keeping them for five years. Livia Morvay, 65, was reported to police 27 times about her dogs worrying livestock, knocking people over, and chasing other pets.
She was arrested and charged with livestock worrying on three separate occasions and issued with a Community Protection Warning and a Community Protection Notice following an investigation by Sussex Police’s Rural Crime Team which began in 2020. The orders required Morvay to ensure her dogs wore a muzzle when being walked in public, but she continued to breach the conditions of the orders.
Morvay, of Heathfield, East Sussex, has now been convicted of nine breaches of the Community Protection Notice at Hastings Magistrates’ Court. She was given a Criminal Behaviour Order , which prevents her from keeping or controlling any dog for five years.Sergeant Jon Attfield, of the Rural Crime Team, said: “This case is a reminder of the importance of responsible dog ownership.
He added: “We hope this sends a message to any other irresponsible dog owners that police and the courts will take action against those who fail to keep their dogs under control.”
