The New South Wales Government has made up ground against Labor ahead of the state election, as Dominic Perrottet remains the preferred Premier over Chris Minns.

The latest Newspoll, conducted for The Australian, shows popular support for the Opposition has dropped by four points to 36 per cent since last September.

Asked who would make the better Premier, Dominic Perrottet remains the preferred with a 10 per cent lead over Chris Minns. A further 24 per cent were uncommitted.
