The inside track on the football stories that matter
Celtic have not yet agreed a deal to sign Fenerbahce goalkeeper Dominik Livakovic with his wage demands a major hurdle to overcome,, Football Insider journalist and Scottish expert Daniel Bowers admitted it would be a “major coup” if the Hoops could secure the Croatia international this summer. However, while the reported figure of £7-8million is seen as a realistic fee for him, the goalkeeper’s wages would be a “stumbling block” for the Scottish club.
Celtic had been linked to the 29-year-old last summer, but the club saw no reason to make a move for him because Joe Hart was still playing. The defending Scottish Premiership champions need to sign a goalkeeper this season following Hart’s decision to retire at the end of last season.
