AFL: Chris Fagan was in no mood to discuss Charlie Cameron's favourable decision at the tribunal during the week.

Chris Fagan has launched an impassioned defence of Charlie Cameron ’s controversial Tribunal escape, engaging in a terse exchange with a journalist at his Friday morning press conference .that Cameron’s one-game suspension for a dangerous tackle on Melbourne’s Jake Lever last Thursday should be downgraded to a fine, leaning on the Lion’s “exemplary” record in its argument.

“When you go to the Tribunal, you use everything at your disposal to try and free up your player, which every club does,” Fagan said, addressing reporters. “ was mentioned. I’m pretty sure it wasn’t the main reason why the charge was downgraded to low impact.”Fagan argued the level of impact of Cameron’s tackle on Lever was low, citing the absence of a medical report from the Demons.

“Was Jake Lever hurt? No, he wasn’t. Did he go off for a concussion test? No, he didn’t. Was there a medical report from the Melbourne Football Club about his condition? No, there wasn’t.More players to use Cameron defence | 01:03
