Anthony Albanese said it would be 'a pretty brave' state leader who would say no to a public holiday if the Matildas win the World Cup but one premier has questioned whether people should get a day off.
Mr Albanese is keen to see a snap national public holiday called if the Matildas hold aloft the FIFA Women's World Cup trophy in Sydney later this month.
"The Prime Minister wants to give them a public holiday, I don't know about that," the Premier told reporters on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Mr Andrews has also congratulated the Australian Diamonds on winning the Netball World Cup in Cape Town, South Africa at the weekend.last year, with a $15 million deal which saw Visit Victoria become a key sponsor.
