AFL: Ken Hinkley will hand over the coaching reins at Port Adelaide to Josh Carr for 2026.
Geelong legend Cameron Mooney believes Port Adelaide will drop out of the finals in 2025, but not because of its coaching handover .Port this week confirmed the upcoming season would be Hinkley’s 13th and final campaign in charge before handing the reins over to assistant coach Josh Carr .
adding “clearly, you’re not changing coach before the start of the season if you think you’re going to win the premiership.” Mooney pointed out that Collingwood made the 2011 Grand Final during the Mick Malthouse-Nathan Buckley coaching handover in proof that the formula can work.But the three-time premiership player simply doesn’t think Port, who lost dual All-Australian Dan Houston in the trade period but gained Jack Lukosius and Joe Richards, has the talent to match it with other contenders.
