BREAKING: Donald Trump has become just the third US President in history to be impeached. 9News The House has voted to charge him with abuse of power, with another vote to come:
Mr Trump was welcomed to a rally in Michigan to raucous applause.The first count passed 230-197 and the second 229-198, with no Republicans voting for impeachment.
Aides had predicted Mr Trump would wait to see the vote in the House before coming out to address the rally, but he came out early and promised "the best speech you've ever heard". Mr Trump, tweeting from the White House, earlier used all capital letters and exclamation points to register his outrage.
Protesters lined up on the streets in Washington on the eve of the impeachment articles vote in the US House.To end the debate, the Republican Minority Leader in the House, Kevin McCarthy, railed against the process.
