A new indictment is filed against former US president Donald Trump in the case involving alleged interference of the 2020 US election.

US prosecutors have obtained a new indictment in the 2020 election subversion case against Donald Trump , following a US Supreme Court ruling that former presidents have broad immunity from criminal prosecution.

Special counsel Jack Smith lodged the updated indictment, which keeps the same criminal charges but narrows the allegations against Trump to an area of conduct for which the Trump's co-conspirators were not named in either indictment, but they have been identified through public records and other means.
