A civil fraud case against the former US president that could last months begins today. Donald Trump has arrived at the court in New York after he lashed out against the judge presiding over the case.
Donald Trump's lawyer Alina Habba has just addressed the media outside court.She told reporters:"What we are witnessing is election interference of somebody who is leading in the polls the more they hit him. Ms Habba vowed that her client will continue to fight"in hopes that there is some level of law and order in this country".Letitia James, the New York attorney general, has also arrived at the court.
Despite his various legal troubles, Donald Trump remains the runaway favourite to secure the Republican Party's nomination.Ron DeSantis, the outspoken and"anti-woke" governor of Florida, was a distant second at 14.1%. "We won the foundation of our case last week and proved that his purported net worth has long been rooted in incredible fraud," she said.
Donald Trump says he will make a rare trip to court in New York today as he and his associates face accusations over business dealings."I'm going to Court tomorrow morning to fight for my name and reputation," he wrote.Trump lashed out in his post at Letitia James, the New York attorney general, who is suing him in this case, and Judge Arthur Engoron, who is presiding over the non-jury trial.
