Former police officer Darren Stanton also believes the unusual headshot shows the former president believes he will be cleared of all charges.
Donald Trump was attempting to be “intimidating” and “defiant” to the courts in a newly released mugshot, a body language expert has claimed.
Stanton notes the eye contact which is "held fixed right into the lens", and says this was "clearly decided on by Trump to show his accusers and the world that he is showing defiance and he believes he will be acquitted of his charges". Furthermore, Trump's forward head tilt in the photo is designed to "make his glare even more intimidating to his accusers". It comes as Trump's former national security advisor made similar comments, describing the picture as "carefully staged, as with most things Trump does".
It came after he missed the first debate in the Republican primaries - in which the GOP choose the presidential candidate for the 2024 election. Eight contenders were on stage - including Trump's former Vice President Mike Pence. He said: "You cannot believe in a law-and-order philosophy and say it applies to everybody except Donald Trump. In any sane society, somebody who's a convicted felon should step aside."
