Former president Donald Trump criticised the actions of his then-vice-president, Mike Pence, on the day of the assault on Capitol, saying that his Mr Pence lacked courage.
"Mike, and I say it sadly, because I like him, but Mike did not have the courage to act," Mr Trump added.
"Ultimately, I believe that most Americans understand that we did our duty that day under the Constitution and the laws of this country," the newspaper quoted Mr Pence as saying. A mob of Donald Trump supporters stormed the US Capitol building as politicians tried to certify the results of the 2020 election.
"What you're seeing is a complete and total lie. It's a complete and total fraud," he told the Faith and Freedom Coalition's Road to Majority conference.
