Mr Trump also highly praised Harry's brother Prince William, whom he met following the ceremonial reopening of Notre Dame Cathedral in December. The Heritage Foundation, which sued the Department of Homeland Security in May 2023 to release Harry's visa documents Under US law, people who admit to or are convicted of drug offenses may face immigration restrictions.
Judge Nichols dismissed the case in September, but the think tank revived the lawsuit, hoping Trump's return to office would favour it. He said he's seeking to balance releasing too much information and redacting it to the point of omitting significance, adding he favoured"maximum disclosure as long as it doesn’t violate privacy.”Government department lawyer John Bardo said the declarations “contain a lot of information we’re trying to withhold" and would be a “shell” after redactions.
After the hearing, Heritage Foundation’s Margaret Thatcher Centre for Freedom director Nile Gardiner urged Mr Trump to order federal agencies to release the documents.
