The powerful Doctor Doom is a fierce protector of his Latverian realm, so it is no surprise that he has been secretly preparing a team of mutants to defend his precious homeland.
Doctor Doom's X-Men Have Been Secretly Preparing For Their Debut Latveria has remained neutral in Orchis' horrific assault on the mutants of Krakoa, as Doom typically stays out of international politics that don't directly impact his homeland. However, Doom has an affinity for all Latverian citizens, even those who are mutants, and it seems like he has been preparing a group of mutant "heroes" to defend Latveria from any assaults by Orchis or other threats.
