The Plano-headquartered Frito-Lay brand Doritos released its Super Bowl ad Wednesday centered around the shape of its chip, the triangle.
follows popular artist Jack Harlow as he struggles to find a new angle for his upcoming track. Inspiration strikes after snacking on Sweet and Tangy BBQ Doritos, and Harlow then incorporates the triangle instrument into his music. The ad set to air during Sunday’s showdown between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles features cameos from music stars Missy Elliot and Elton John.
“Doritos always has the most entertaining and fun Super Bowl commercials, so to become a part of this year’s spot through Doritos’ TikTok challenge is unreal,” Yadao-Payad said. In three days, more than a million videos were submitted, making it Doritos’ most successful video on the social media site to date, the company said. The price tag on a 30-second spot during the big game this year is a record $7 million.
