They are on a hopeless quest. How can one deny the existence of these institutions? There are old boarding school sites across Canada and the evidence of genocidal treatment is obvious.
These are not the boarding schools for upper-class Brits such as Eaton and Harrow. These British boarding schools entrenched the upper-class culture. Today, we continue to struggle with the legacy of these institutions. I hesitate to use the word “schools” because they didn’t educate in any positive way. There was no graduation or academic future — the fact that they are called survivors speaks for itself.Article content Many of the survivors were unable to parent because they never learned how. They were treated like cattle by the school staff. They were identified by number and individuality was lost. The survivors remember their number the same way veterans can recall their regimental number.
