The Albanese government is confident the Prime Minister’s trip to China will lead to the elimination of tariffs on Australian goods.
The Albanese government is hopeful the Prime Minster's visit to Beijing will result in China cutting its remaining trade sanctions"down to zero".
According to Trade Minister Don Farrell, the visit provides the opportunity for Australia to “completely stabilize” relations with our largest trading partner. Speaking to Sky News Political Editor Andrew Clennell in Beijing, Mr Farrell said the government hopes this week’s visit would result in the remaining tariffs being removed.
“We're hopeful that as a result of this visit, that we can get that down to zero, and that the remaining impediments lobster and beef will be removed. While the government has made clear it clear that the Australia-China relationship cannot return to its pre-2016 heights, Prime Minister Albanese said his visit to the Chinese capital is “a very positive thing”.
